Messer is a modern European bistro with a passion for incredible local produce.

Where classics such as clams a la plancha come to life with seasonal local herbs, quality meats from local producers are slow roasted on the rotisserie and wood-roasted cauliflower make carnivores think again about vegetables.

Staying true to European tradition, each afternoon we celebrate aperitivo, serving cocktails, spritz, wine and beers with tapas and small plates inspired by the best of the continent.

Lead by Executive Chef Ashley Davis, the team pour their passion for European food and genuine hospitality into every dish, drink and interaction to deliver an enjoyable European inspired occasion for everyone that comes to visit.

Oktoberfest Bottomless Brunch $55pp

With October upon us and a German name we thought what better way to launch weekend brunch than with an Oktoberfest-style bottomless brunch.

Over an hour and a half, enjoy monstrous pork schnitzels, duckwurst hot dogs and käsespätzle (German mac n’ cheese) while sipping on Steins of Hefeweizen bier, Bloody Mary’s and Berlin-style Mimosas. At $55 per person, it's as good value as a certain German supermarket.

The menu also includes Messer’s famous German flatbread, house made pickles, mountains of sauerkraut and of course, Pretzels.

Keeping within the German spirit, brunch will run from 11am all the way to 3pm Saturdays.

Can't Make it for Saturday brunch?

Fear not as we'll be serving the Oktoberfest menu for a-la carte lunch, Tuesday to Friday during October.

Pan-European Messer joins the party in Gertrude Street, Fitzroy

"Like Copper Pot it's a pan-European menu, this time with a market food vibe. Expect spit-roasted pork knuckles with coleslaw, lots of seafood such as grilled sardines and solid dessert work from pastry chef Gemma Calleja..."

Messer Opening Soon

"The menu aims to be approachable and malleable to the day's catch, so to speak – hero vegetables and ethically sourced seafood and meats (there’s a rotisserie, smoking barbeque and plancha involved) at lunch, while the more-extensive dinner menu is where the chefs have a little fun."

Hotel Electric, Bistro Sousou and Messer set to open on Gertrude Street, Fitzroy

"The big story, though, is Messer: venue two for Ashley Davis of Seddon's pan-European bistro, Copper Pot. Part of a new apartment development, it's a 50-seater in shades of white and vivid blue operating from 11am-11pm Monday to Saturday"
